Strict Diet to Lose Weight Fast

There are many diets that restrict certain types of foods, from white sugar and wheat to any animal proteins. However, when looking for a strict diet to lose weight fast, The Cleanse diet seems to be the most restrictive. The Master Cleanse, also known as the Lemon Cleanse and the Maple Syrup diet has been used for more than fifty years. However, its original intention was not for uses as a diet. Its creator, Dr. Stanley Burroughs, used it to flush harmful toxins from the body, such as pesticides, chemicals associated with fertilizers and heavy metals. Later he used it as a cure for ulcers.

Cravings for drugs, alcohol, tobacco and were allegedly curbed. Fast, temporary weight loss was a side effect. Today, the definition of harmful toxins as been broadened to include coffee, tea and cola drinks.  The Master Cleanse, with its reputation for being strict diet to lose weight fast, uses lemon or lime juice and water mixed with maple syrup and Cayenne pepper to cleanse the digestive tract. During the ten day to two week period of the cleanse, no solid foods are to be eaten. In 2005, a book was released extolling the virtues of The Cleanse as a weight loss method.

Whenever there are more calories burned than consumed, the result is weight loss. We burn hundreds of calories a day, just by breathing. Additional calories are burned when we walk across a room, climb a set of stairs or expend energy by using our arms and legs to lift packages, dinner plates, etc. It stands to reason that if a person continues to be active while primarily consuming water, weight loss will occur. As there is little for the body to metabolize to give it energy, participants are tired and frequently unable to focus.  Headaches and constipation are common side effects.

This is not the only type of strict diet to lose weight fast, but it is certainly one of the most extreme. The word strict seems to have different meanings for different people. For some, a strict diet is one that doesn’t allow an entire food group to be eaten, such as fruit. For others, a strict diet may be one that only allows them to eat cookies one day a week. The safest, most effective long-term weight loss method is through a healthy diet.
